How many Nepalese are in the world?

This is very interesting and challenging question to answer, but we have the answer for it. Total worldwide Nepalese population is approximately 35,762,000, or in other words, 3 crores, 57 lakhs, 62 thousand. See list of countries, population and source below.

Government census data

According to official government data, Nepal had 22,736,934 population in 2001. In the United States (USA), there were 11,715 Nepalese American in 2001. There were only 3,505 Nepalese in Canada in 2006. In Hong Kong, there were 12,564 Nepalese in 2001.

The purpose of Data Collected from Online Form

NepaliCount.com s a dynamic data generation social networking portal that will facilitate the count of Nepali people from around the world. Our goal is to encourage the Nepalese community as a whole, and Nepalese individuals in particular, to play a significant role in promoting the importance and value of the census count in their respective countries. We had successfully campaigned in the 2010 census count in the United States.The UK. Census is scheduled for next year 2011. Next Nepal census is set for 2012 (B.S. 2068).

Counting, Listing Name

The user data will be generated automatically when a user enters her/his first name, last name, email, country of residence and city, province or state and submits by clicking the “I Join” button. The user data will be instantly recorded for analysis and will appear under the “Population by Country” link in alphabetical order. The user can search her/his name by using search box or “Population by Country” or Find Your Name”. The user data (info) will be protected under the international and U.S. cyber laws, privacy policies.

We will not disclose (publish) or share or use your email except that we may contact you via email regarding our upcoming events, surveys, or polls and if we make any changes in our Terms of Use (TOU), Privacy Policy etc. In that case, we will give email recipients an ‘unsubscribe’ option. NepaliCount.com is not associated with any government census bureau or survey department. NepaliCount.com may endorse any government’s community, public initiative that is important to the Nepalese community.

NepaliCount.com is owned and developed by US Nepal Media Center (USNMC), a State of New Jersey,  USA-based not-for-profit media corporation. USNMC is solely responsible for its operation, expense and any legal liability.

Data Monitoring & Portal Promotion Committee (DMPPC)

NepaliCount.com will be promoted and run by an autonomous Data Monitoring & Portal Promotion Committee (DMPPC) consisting of members of US Nepal Media Center (USNepalOnline.com), co-sponsors and representatives from countries where the major population of the Nepalese diaspora is concentrated. Affiliation

We will enlist all Nepalese organizations from each country to become affiliate members of NepaliCount.com. Each organization will be listed alphabetically under the “Nepalese Orgs” link at NepaliCount.com.

Media Partners

We will encourage the Nepalese media (online, print, broadcast) in each country to be our media partner in effecting promotion of this project. The names will be listed alphabetically under the “Media Partner” link at NepaliCount.com.
